I write this last blog as we fly home, we are so lucky to have an experience like this. We started this adventure with a G"day and ended it as good mates that concurred Cambodia on a bike (1800ks in 11 days).
From the temples in the north to the jungles in the south we can't stop smiling. From the people we meet and the challengers we over come, we had a ripper time.
Our body's are black and blue from light stacks to really hard knocks. Freddie had to use our sponsor Phuket pharmacy on more then 5 occasions to get him through the pain, disclaimer 1.2 all drugs where taken under the use of a medical practitioner.
The familyes we stayed with at the villages was a highlight that will never be forgotten. I never thought I would sleep with 5 mates and a Khmer family on the floor.
Having your morning shower (bucket and soap) with the family as they brush there teeth was a little funny at times.
Have you ever walked through a hotel in your undies ? I can tell you we have at every stay, it was like clock work as the boys pulled up at our hotel and the riding gear was straight off. After 10 hours of sweaty riding in the jungle the first thing off was the gear. We have no shame now.
P. S. it's seems older men over 40 don't wear boxes (very strange).
Our last stay we walked in to the most expensive hotel in Kep, in minutes after arriving we walked through the hotel without checking in (we where in our jocks) past family's and children straight for the pool. We where disgusting, the hotel had to use double the chlorine after we got out (the pool changed its color).
I end this post flying high with the amazing outcome from the donations to the Mad 5.
The money raised for the Cambodia Children's Trust was outstanding.
We raised 16,630,000r (real - local currency in Cambodia) , this amount is going to go a long way for these kids.
We would like to thank everyone involved for there help and support.
