We woke up to a local market and what a delight it was with the market selling fresh meat, fish and veggies. We looked big white and stupid walking through this market but all was well with all the locals pointing and laughing at the stupid dicks trying to work out the local produce.
Smells from fresh food has just been amazing on this trip and so has the food. Fred has been trying everything on his plate.
This is a big step for mankind with Fred trying chicken feet soup, morning glory, chillies, roast buffalo and things I didn't have the heart to tell him what they are. Good on ya Fred for giving it a go.
Our bike skills started rusty this morning with dusty sections of the ride that made us ride blind.
The deep sand to slippery mud on very tight technical tracks tested our skills, like rusty hacks on bikes we crashed and crashed hard we did. Travis true to his name went down first, like a record he was back on and riding hard and falling off even harder.
What a day for tracks, we covered around 200ks of dodgy track and a river crossing that put a fear in any riders mind. Deep and long but we all came to the challenge and we smashed it.
The day was long with no lunch because in my bad khmer I said lets keep riding all day by mistake. Travis and Fred were not happy when they found out.
We ended the night in another home stay in the middle of village, we arrived with the sun going down and the local farm life running wild around the house with Chickens, pigs, dogs and roasters.
I don't have the heart to tell customs we were haven't been in rural farm land on my arrival card.
The mad 5 end this blog tonight on a wooden floor with a sheet on top of the floor boards(3 star home stay), this is my bed for the night and what a night it will be. Mmmm relaxing
Unlike the vb saying a hard thirst deserves a cold beer my saying for the day is " been riding all day and can't move a muscle, then you deserve the floor".
5 hours later and floor is no softer, it's now 350am I can't wait for the morning to begin. Ummm mattress.
It's now 610am and the sound of roosters are driving me mad, shut the fuck up...
Day 3 down and more to come hell ya it's getting better every day.
