What a day of thrills and spills

We wake up to the sound of a local village with the ducks, chickens and pigs waking us up. What a morning...

We had a local feed and hit the trails, In minutes we were riding single tracks like pros ( disclaimer 1.1 we are shit and fall off our bikes a lot). It had rained the night before so the ground was not dusty and perfect for going hard, it was on and we were racing each other.

Brad was riding strong and Alby just behind, this father and son team ride like they have done this a 10000 times before. As for the Hammonds Fred and Travis these guys are bloody good on a bike and can ride like the wind, but in true Aussie spirt they talk it down like any true skipy.

Our first stop was to refuel the bike and have a drink, we were lucky enough to stop in a very out of the way village. All the children from miles came running to see the big scary white men on dirt bikes.

In minutes we had 30 kids staring at us, the boys and I heard a slight sound in the distance and it was the local Cambodian icecream cart (soy bean and ice). In minutes the boys and I decided to pay for the village kids icecreams for all. What a bloody day, kids are smilling ear to ear with happiness. In minutes the word had spread and more kids arrived. We stayed true to our word and feed all the kids.

After enough icecream for a small army we were hit with the bill of 7 auz bucks. Looks like the mad 5 dirt ride will be the talk of the night tonight in the town for the price of a beer back home.

We then rode on to the Ko Keor Temple, another amazing bit of history. this temple was the first temple made back in 941. Just mind blowing how they built this back in the day.

We then kicked on for the best riding for the day, it was 4 hours of non stop action on tight tracks. Sand, clay and rocky heaven for us boys on the bikes. By the end if the day Travis was staying true to his name and started falling off the bike, fatigue had kicked in.

We chose the easy way home and I think all were happy to hear the sound home time.
